Satellite Communicator / Emergency Device
Save $100 on Garmin inReach Mini 2
My go-to satellite communicator is the Garmin inReach Mini. This is a GPS device that allows my family to track my location when I’m hiking and also send messages back and forth if needed. It also has an SOS button that contacts search and rescue should I get into an emergency. I like how small and lightweight it is. It is now on sale for $100 off, which is an amazing deal!
Tents
I’ve personally used the Big Agnes Fly Creek UL2 for backpacking and really love it! Here are some of the best Big Agnes tents for camping and backpacking:
Big Agnes Fly Creek HV (UL 1 / UL 2 ): The Fly Creek is lighter than the Tiger Wall, but has a single front door entrance, which can be hard to get out of or may not be preferable with 2+ people.
Big Agnes Tiger Wall (UL 1/ UL 2 / UL 3): The Tiger Wall is an excellent ultralight backpacking tent option. The main difference between the Tiger Wall and the Fly Creek is that the Tiger Wall has a side door entrance (easier to get in/out of) whereas the Fly Creek has a front door, which is harder to get in/out of. Both are semi-freestanding tents.
Big Agnes Copper Spur HV (UL1 / UL2 / UL2 - Long / UL3 / UL3 - Long): The Copper Spur is a great option for a fully freestanding tent. It is a bit heavier but could be worth the extra weight if you want a true freestanding tent. This tent also has a side door entry.

The NEMO Switchback is a folding foam sleeping pad with an insulation R-value of 2, which I used on my thru-hike of the Continental Divide Trail.
The NEMO Tensor is a popular inflatable sleeping pad with an insulation R-value of 4.2, so it is warmer than the Switchback.
Camping and Backpacking Pillows

A couple of my favorite camping and backpacking pillows are the Sea to Summit Aeros Ultralight Pillow (2 oz, regular size) and the Sea to Summit Aeros Premium Pillow (2.5 oz, regular size), which are both on sale!
The NEMO Fillo Elite Pillow is a great ultralight pillow option for backpacking, weighing in at only 3 ounces! If you are less concerned about weight, then the NEMO Fillo Pillow is a larger version of the pillow.
Camping Chairs
I’ve used the REI Co-op Flexlite Camp Chair for years for camping and it is now 30% off during the REI Anniversary Sale! It’s super nice because it’s comfortable and it also packs down small, which is great when you have limited space. I’ve even been able to pack it in a checked bag and fly with it for a camping trip to the Grand Canyon. This chair and all REI Co-op brand furniture are now on sale for 30% off! It’s easy to get dehydrated, so bringing enough water is essential and I always bring a reusable water bottle.
